Several classes at River View had the unique experience of “meeting” Dr. Jane Goodall on Tuesday, April 2 via Skype in the Classroom. They joined students from around the world in listening to Dr. Jane talk about her experience in Africa studying chimpanzees when she was younger, and how it changed her life. She states, “My mission is to create a world where we can live in harmony in nature.” Believing that “what you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make,” Jane Goodall travels around the world speaking to groups and inspiring others to do their part in helping animals, other people, and protecting the world. Students were able to text questions to Dr. Jane, during the program and receive answers. Classes even got to take a selfie with her projected image at the end of the presentation! A special “thank you” to district technology technician Michael Johnson, for setting up and running all the technology needed to participate in this amazing event! Additional images have been posted to our facebook page.
