Examinations
(Midyear)
All students are required to take mid-year and final exams for all courses that require a final exam.
The following rules will govern during exams:
If an exam is skipped (an unexcused absence), the student will be assigned to a 3-hour detention. The student will have the opportunity to take the exam during the detention for a grade up to a 70.
If an exam (that is taken) results in a student failing for the semester, the student will be allowed one retake of the exam and earn up to one-half the points missed on the original exam.
Students must remain in the classroom for the entire testing period.
Students who request an exam schedule change must get administrative approval one week prior to the exam.
Students requesting a change in the final exam schedule can only do so for emergency purposes.
All students are expected to follow their class schedule and be in their assigned classrooms, including study halls, during exam week. The teacher and grade-level administrator will issue students who skip exams and/or study halls the appropriate consequences for their actions.
Bus Schedule
Buses will pick up GAHS students at 11:00am each day after exams. Buses will be out front at 10:45am
There will be a bus available at the end of the regular school day (1:55pm) for students who need to stay at school after 11:00am to make-up an exam, or who have made arrangements to stay with a teacher for academic reasons. This bus will connect with the regular bus runs at the Middle School.
Attention C.A.T.C. Students!
Regular bus runs will be made to and from C.A.T.C. each day.
Attendance at C.A.T.C. is expected for the week.
Remember! Unwaived absences will count towards the attendance policy.
The C.A.T.C. bus will return to G.A.H.S. at the regular time each day.
C.A.T.C. students will be provided transportation home at the end of the day through connecting with the regular bus runs from the Middle School.
Snow Day/School Cancellation
In the event that we have a snow day on a day we have exams, the next school day will be the same day that was missed due to the cancellation. Example: Thursday, January 18 is scheduled to be an O-Day with period 1-O and 2-O exams. If Thursday is cancelled due to inclement weather, Friday (January 19) would then be an O-Day with period 1-O and 2-O exams. Monday (January 22) would then be a B-Day with period 1-B and 2-B exams, Tuesday (January 23) would be an O-Day with period 3-O and 4-O exams, and the last day of exams would be on Wednesday (January 24 for period 3-B and 4-B exams. In this situation, the first day of the 2nd semester would be Thursday, January 25. This would be a B-Day.
